For over forty years Fitzgerald Publishing has published many of the leading books on tarantula spiders, while its video production platform made one of the earliest tarantula documentaries screened on public television – Desert Tarantulas. Fitzgerald Publishing has now been re-booted as lovetarantulas.com , where it continues to make ground breaking, tarantula natural history documentaries. 

The lovetarantulas mission is to make academic, arachnohistory films, on location, all over the world. We budget £10,000 on each project which covers the production of two 90 minute documentaries, overseas filming, editing and production costs.

NEW FORMAT AVAILABLE!

From December 2025, all of our new documentaries will only be available in the new format of Plug & Play USB sticks that can be played on any device with a standard USB port (or with an adopter, a USB-C port). TV's, PC's, tablets, DVD players, even some phones. Plus, having the advantage of a viewing quality of 1080HD - or even in the future 4K - thus far superior to DVD's. For those collectors among you that have a collection of our documentaries, we will be keeping the existing DVD style covers - only now containing a USB stick.

Our old documentaries will still be available as DVD's while stocks last and for those of you coming afresh to lovetarantulas.com - we now have The Complete ARCHIVE - a 64GB stick that has everything that Andrew Smith has ever done over the last 40 years. 15 documentaries, plus interviews, lectures and 13 e-books from our book publishing period as Fitzgerald Publishing.
